On-Line Log-in
Status : Completed
Launch date : 4 June 1999
Completion date : 18 June 1999
Budget : P400.00
Total Bn Funds Used: None

The Service Support Battalion On-line Log-in has served its purpose and has provided fast and easy to use message forwarding services using electronic mail (e-mail) to lessen Wednesday thru Saturday traffic of Cadets in the DMST. Instead of Cadets logging-in in the DMST, MS 21 and 22 Cadets now receive the login messages posted at the DMST through their e-mail. The project was a success garnering 200 users since 27 February 2000 (Average total shared or single mailboxes).

The project used the electronic group message forwarding service eGroups, a free Internet service, now owned by Yahoo.

This project was spearheaded by CMSgt Angelo Racoma and CTSgt Peter Tongco both from 'A' Medics

The project was turned over to CSSgt Michael G. Te of 'B' Medics and CSgt Aris Roberto of ‘B’ MP.

Post Slips

Current Status : Completed
Launch date : 2 February 2000
Completion date : 17 February 2000
Budget : P2500.00
Total Bn Funds Used : P2500 est.

The Post Slips provide accurate information on where SSBn Cadets are posted during Training Days (TDs) and to restrict anomalies wherein some Cadets disappear from their posts without explaining where they went.

The Post Slips are regularly checked by the NCO's and then signed by the Battalion Commanders or Officers wherein the Cadets are posted. The project is proven successful as the SSBn Cadets now have a low MIA (missing in action) report of 0.89%. The MIA level before the project was 43.89%. All MIA cadets are now recorded as AWOL and are marked absent for that training day. Other information on a Cadet’s post are included, the Commanding Officer of the platoon or company he is assigned to, a list of casualties or

The projects ensures that all Cadets are at their respective posts and are seen by the Battalion Commanders or Officers in their respective post since the Cadets are required to claim the Officers' signature. It also has control numbers and is signed by the Officer in Charge, mostly NCO's, before deployment.

The Post Slips are budget wise, using photocopiers for publication. One short bond paper (8.5in. x 11in.) contains 6 pieces of Post Slips. These are then precut by the admin (administrative staff), marked and accounted for before the Sunday Training Day.

Kadêt (The Official SSB Newsletter)
Current Status : Completed
Launch date : 12 September 1999
Completion date : 1 October 1999
Number of Issues Published : 11
Budget : No Information Provided
Total Bn Funds Used : P600.00

Its main purpose is to give an alternative print medium to Kadete, the official publication of the UPROTC that evidently has not been published for the past few months. Another purpose is to present announcements and related matter to the Battalion in a format they would understand. Hence we "spoofed" the format of Kulê (Philippine Collegian) so as to provide a recognizable and “fun” newsletter.

There was no fund allocated for the Newsletter since it is not a priority project and may intensify conflicts with Kadete. The Editor-in-chief for the first five issues issued funding and  SSBn also shouldered some of the issues released.
